It's all going on in Les Gets

We're delighted to announce that Les Gets is making a lot of improvements for the coming winter.

First off the Chavannes gondola (or Red Egg to those in the know) is being replaced following a €4.5 million investment. Access to the lift will be easier, particularly for those with little legs, as it is now all on one level. Capacity is up from 900 to 1600 passangers an hour but you'll be delighted to know it'll still be red!

There are further developments to the slopes down in the village as the departure point of the Boule de Gomme draglift (the first ever automatic release draglift installed in France in 1936) will be slightly repositioned. Along with remodelling of the slopes leading down to the village this will make this key area a lot more user friendly for beginners and children.

The Chamossiere area, a long time favourite for skiers who like to test themselves (the leg burn potential of the Chamossiere black is legendary), has always suffered from poor access. A new six man chair will replace the old drag and chair combo and reduce the journey to the summit to around 5 minutes. The views from the top are as fantastic as the runs back down.

The final development on the slopes is a a new boarder-cross run dedicated to local heroine Déborah Anthonioz (she won silver at the 2010 Olympic games). This is being created on Mont-Chéry and throughout the winter sessions will be staged when you can tackle this run in the presence of Déborah ... no pressure then.

The good news doesn't end on the slopes, there are weekly chocolate workshops at the Chalet du Chocolat, three locally brewed beers at the Irish Pub and Ski Famille has a special 10% discount on all lift passes booked before the 31st October.

Reduced price skiing on an even better ski area with an apres ski choice of beer or chocolate - fantastic!
