Moving on up

As anyone who follows us on Twitter will know we are in the process of moving offices. The Ski Famille team in Farnborough has grown by a whopping 80% in the past month and we have outgrown our little office.

80% sounds quite dramatic doesn’t it … to put this in perspective we have gone from 2 ½ people to 4 ½. Hopefully Jules won’t get too offended by being referred to as a half … she punches above her weight.

The new team members are firstly Oliver, who will be Sheila’s right hand man dealing with all new family skiing reservations and ensuring that booked guests have everything they need in the build up to their holiday, and Kirsty. Kirsty will be a familiar name and face to anyone who stayed in Reberty last winter. She was Resort Manager in the 3 Valleys and is now our year round UK based Operations Manager.

So the team are in place, what about the new office? We decided to keep it simple move to a larger unit within the same building. We are going up one floor and swapping sides of the building. What could make that complicated? As anyone who runs their own business will know you can always rely on BT to throw a spanner in the works!

We are now in limbo (and I am working from the smallest desk in Hampshire in our interview room). Our phone system is in but sadly it is not connected to anything. BT have, two weeks after the first line was meant to go in, given us an eye watering quote to get lines up from the ground to the 4th floor (and yes the 4th floor is already full of businesses happily using their phones). I could explain the ins and outs in detail but life is too short and I would hate to be thought of as a bore!

Just keep ‘em crossed we get in soon … tempers may flare!
