Snow update

This will be my last update for a while as I am hitting the Alps myself on Saturday. This will be my first ever proper Ski Famille holiday (i.e. wife and child + friends with ankle biters and a full week in one of our chalets). If you want to read about the preparations click here for my blog report >>

Come Sunday morning I'll be hitting the slopes of Les Gets for a refresher lesson with the very profesional and patient Tim Scott of Les Gets Snowsports. I firmly believe that, even if you have been skiing for years, a couple of hours of tuition is always a great investment in your holiday enjoyment.

So, what are conditions like at the moment? Ski Famille founder Steve Sharp is currently in Les Gets on holiday and has e-mailed me his report this morning, "... you can be very upbeat about the snow. It’s been like January here – even on sunny days it’s stayed very cold. Mont Chery for instance had sun and perfect snow all day – not a hint of slush. I can’t see it disappearing very quickly even if the weather gets more spring like. The usual suspects like Nyon/Pleney links are white and firm – not a brown patch to be seen.". Sounds good to me!

Reberty conditions are similarly excellent - which is handy as I'll be in the 3 Valleys "working" the week after my family holiday. Resort Manager Kirsty's only complaint is that it's a bit too cold for March. However, looking at the forecast it should be warming up a bit - not enough to do any real damage to the snow though.
