Snow news like good news.....

Snow updates
The last few days of December were a little too warm for our liking but New Year's Eve bought a change in the weather and the snow began to fall thick and fast. Conditions look set to get better still.

Three Valleys
There is around 80cm snow at the level of our Reberty Village chalets (2000m) and the highest slopes in the Three Valleys have over 150cm of snow. There is 5-10cms of fresh snow on all pistes and 95% of all pistes are open.

Looking ahead around 2cm of snow is expected in the next 48 hours with a further 12-15cms in the days that follow. Temperatures are set to stay low and it could get as cold as -18 at night - time to light the fire and grab a glass of red!

Our resort team report excellent on piste conditions and minimal lift queues now that the New Year crowds have headed home.

Les Gets - Portes du Soleil
Les Gets only has around 40cm on snow on the lowest slopes, but needs far less cover on it's grass based slopes to enable good ski conditions. The upper slopes have 115cm on snow and approximately 85% of runs are open. Surface conditions are described as powdery - nice!

The resort can only expect a dusting of snow over the next 48 hours but, like Reberty, can look forward to 12-15cms later in the week. Though not as cold as Reberty temperatures will not get above freezing this week and could dip as low as -10.

Realistically Les Gets got off to a pretty shaky start to the season but conditions are now spot on for the time of year and the outlook is good.
