Snow conditions update

With snow very much in the news at home (2 hours 20 mins to drive the 4 miles home last night ...) it's nice to be able to report great snow where it ought to be - up in the mountains!

Les Gets saw some decent snowfalls in the nick of time 48hrs before Christmas guests arrived. Whilst it is not fully open, over half of the lifts are operating and snow depths are fine for the grass based pistes (35cm lower & 80cm upper). Mont Chery (our favourite bit of the ski area) is not yet open but further snowfalls before New Year week hits should have it up to speed.

Reberty Village (Les Menuires) has seen some pretty grim weather this week - in a good way. Temperatures dropped back to nearly -20 and we saw the diesel in vehicles starting to freeze - all a bit extreme. The cold snap bought snow though. Snow depths are around the same as those seen in Les Gets but a greater proportion of slopes are open (just over 80%). More snow is on the way to help top up and freshen up conditions on the piste.
